Joined CFLP in April 2019

Oxhey is a one-and-a-half-form entry first school educating children between the ages of 3 and 9 years old. The physical setting of the school has to be seen to be believed. Looking out from the large school playground on one side of the valley is Mow Cop and on the other side, is the Staffordshire Moorlands. The safe, secure setting is a feature of the school that is frequently commented upon by visitors to the school. We have a large diverse site, huge grassed areas, a little ‘forest’, play trail and three different playgrounds where children learn to get along with each other, relax and learn in a different context, further adding to the tranquil atmosphere of the school.

The relationship we have developed with our parents and the local community are very important to us. We actively engage with all other local schools and community groups to ensure that our pupils make the very best start to their education and also move smoothly through to our Middle and High schools, equipped with a range of skills, confidence and positive learning attitudes.

Visitors to our school frequently comment on the behaviour, manners and productivity of the learners in an orderly, quiet and calm environment. This is down to the close relationships staff and children have established and the high expectations we all have of each other.

Following our most recent Ofsted inspection, Oxhey was recognised as a Outstanding school. Visitors are most welcome and we invite all prospective parents to explore our wonderful school in action.

“Pupils thrive at Oxhey First School. Staff are highly ambitious for all pupils. They want every pupil to achieve their full potential.”
